White House Rallies U.S. Defense Giants Amid Rising Military Demand
The Trump administration is planning a meeting with top U.S. defense contractors to discuss ramping up weapons production amid military operations. Previous gatherings included top defense firms. The Pentagon is pushing for faster production, with agreements aimed at boosting missile outputs, but contracts are not yet finalized.
The Trump administration is on course for discussions with the leading U.S. defense contractors, aimed at increasing weapons production as military operations, including strikes on Iran, draw down existing supplies. Sources reveal that the meeting, possibly next week, marks a continuation of White House efforts to ensure readiness.
In March, top defense CEOs, including those from BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin, gathered with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to tackle these production challenges. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly asserts that the U.S. military has ample munitions for President Trump's goals but pushes for ongoing production of American-made weaponry.
Recent agreements, dubbed 'framework agreements', set goals to significantly increase missile production with companies like Lockheed Martin and RTX. These agreements, however, have not yet culminated in binding contracts, as Pentagon negotiators push for quicker advancements in production agreements made earlier this year.
