Another IPS officer Prakash Mishra, who had served as the Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), contested on the BJP's ticket from Odisha's Cuttack constituency lost to Biju Janata Dal's Bhartruhari Mahtab by a margin of over 1.21 lakh votes.
