Commuters in Delhi faced significant challenges on Friday as heavy rains led to traffic snarls and waterlogged roads across the city.
An 'orange' warning was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) after Palam recorded 41.9 mm of rainfall in just three hours. Other areas in the city also registered varying levels of precipitation.
Traffic diversions were implemented at several key junctions, including New Rohtak Road, Kamal t-point, and Najafgarh Phirni Road, to manage the situation. The public works department and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) were inundated with calls about waterlogging and uprooted trees, with a total of 45 complaints received within a few hours.
