Tragic Mudslide Claims 13 Lives on Phuket's Big Buddha
A devastating mudslide on Phuket Island, Thailand, caused by heavy rains, resulted in the deaths of 13 people, including a Russian couple and nine Myanmar migrant workers. The incident affected 209 households and injured 20 people. Authorities have completed the search for missing persons and are assisting the victims' families.

Thirteen people, including a Russian couple, lost their lives in a mudslide on the resort island of Phuket, according to local authorities. The search for missing persons was called off on Sunday.
The mudslide, triggered by last week's heavy rains, occurred near the Big Buddha, a popular tourist site in southern Thailand, stated Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat. Among the deceased were nine migrant workers from Myanmar and two Thais.
Governor Sophon reported that around 20 people sustained injuries, and 209 households were impacted. An extensive cleanup operation is ongoing, and authorities are reaching out to the relatives and embassies of the victims to provide support.
