Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday announced a nationwide cleanliness drive targeting two lakh difficult and dirty spots. The campaign, part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative, will span 15 days from September 17 to October 2.

This year's theme, 'Swabhav Swachhata Sanskaar Swachhata (4S)', is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti. The drive aims for the targeted transformation of these locations with the help of various stakeholders.

The campaign emphasizes public participation, mega cleanliness drives, and a welfare initiative for sanitation workers. It seeks to engage a wide array of participants including citizens, industries, and government units, adopting a 'Whole of Society' and 'Whole of Government' approach.
