PM Modi Unveils and Lays Foundations for Rs 11,200 Crore Projects in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various projects in Maharashtra worth Rs 11,200 crore. The projects include the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1), the Swargate-Katraj extension, the Bidkin Industrial Area, Solapur Airport, and the memorial for Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule's first girls' school.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra via video conference.

His scheduled visit to Pune on September 26 was cancelled due to heavy rains in the city.

Modi virtually inaugurated the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1), which cost around Rs 1,810 crore.

He also laid the foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj extension of the Pune Metro Phase-1, estimated at around Rs 2,955 crore. The 5.46 km extension is fully underground with three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.

Additionally, Modi inaugurated the Bidkin Industrial Area, a transformative project spanning 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program, located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

This project, part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, holds tremendous potential as an economic hub in the Marathwada region and is approved with an overall cost of more than Rs 6,400 crore for development in three phases.

PM Modi also inaugurated Solapur Airport, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for tourists, business travelers, and investors. The revamped terminal building aims to serve nearly 4.1 lakh passengers annually.

Lastly, he laid the foundation stone for the memorial of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule's first girls' school at Bhidewada.
