Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy took aim at the Congress government's handling of Bengaluru's rain situation, likening it more to Venice than the promised Singapore.

With heavy rains impacting the IT hub for a third consecutive day, Kumaraswamy stated that Bengaluru was experiencing Venice-like conditions, with boats being a necessary mode of transportation. He emphasized that the problem went beyond temporary water-logging, pointing out that locals had been forced to leave their homes and seek refuge in hotels during rainy seasons for the past three years.

Kumaraswamy further accused the state ministers, including Chief Minister Siddramaiah, of failing to make field visits or address the significant crop losses in other parts of Karnataka. Echoing the sentiment, the opposition BJP criticized the state government for the neglected pothole issues in the city, urging Development Minister D K Shivakumar to prioritize resolving Bengaluru's infrastructure woes.
