Typhoon Kong-rey Hits Taiwan with Devastating Force
Typhoon Kong-rey caused widespread devastation as it struck Taiwan, resulting in one fatality and 73 injuries. The storm brought heavy rains and high winds, leading to suspended flights, closed schools, and forced evacuations. The typhoon also passed by the Philippines causing further widespread disruptions.

Typhoon Kong-rey made a powerful landfall in Taiwan on Thursday, claiming one life and inflicting high winds and floods along the island's east coast and northern areas.
The storm, with winds reaching 184 km per hour and gusts up to 227 kph, also led to widespread flight and train cancellations and forced 8,600 residents into shelters.
One person died after a tree fell on a vehicle, while authorities were on alert for two Czech tourists missing in Hualien's Tarako National Park.
