A devastating fire broke out at a construction site in Busan, South Korea, on Friday, claiming at least four lives, according to fire officials. The blaze erupted at around 10:20 am, leading to the evacuation of approximately 100 workers from the site.
In response to the emergency, about 90 firefighters have been deployed to extinguish the flames. The fire agency indicated that six individuals were taken to hospitals in cardiac arrest, with four subsequently pronounced dead. Four others sustained minor injuries.
Television broadcasts showed ominous gray-black smoke billowing from the site with flames engulfing the area. A helicopter was seen approaching, reflecting intensified rescue efforts. Acting President Choi Sang-mok directed officials to utilize all available resources to combat the fire.
