Punjab Unveils Anti-Drone Initiative and Housing Policy Revamp

The Punjab Cabinet, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, announced a significant investment in an anti-drone system to curb the smuggling of weapons and drugs from Pakistan. The Rs 51.41 crore initiative will see nine systems installed along the 532-kilometer border, aiming to intercept illicit drones.

This strategic move reflects the state government's prioritization of border security, recognizing the urgency in deploying these systems to shield Punjab's frontier districts from the influx of arms and narcotics.

In a parallel decision to bolster urban development, the cabinet approved a streamlined land acquisition process, facilitating the establishment of urban estates. The new policy aims to deliver affordable housing, enhancing the state's infrastructure and living standards.
