Tragedy Strikes as Floods Ravage Nanded District Amid Heavy Rains

A devastating flood claimed three lives and left one person missing in Maharashtra's Nanded district, prompting rescue operations by state authorities and the military. The incident occurred early Tuesday on Mukhed-Udgir Road, where seven individuals were swept away by rushing floods.
Officials identified the deceased as Samina Shaikh, Hasina Shaikh from Telangana, and Mehboob Shaikh from Degloor. Efforts continue to find Afreen Shaikh. The Army and State Disaster Response Force, in conjunction with local agencies, have been assisting in relief efforts, successfully rescuing 293 people since the deluge began.
Maharashtra's Disaster Management Minister, Girish Mahajan, vowed immediate assistance for affected families, allocating Rs 4 lakh in aid per deceased person. The weather department issued a yellow alert for the region, as Hasnal village and surrounding areas remain critically inundated.
