An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the state of Guerrero in Mexico, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The epicenter was located in San Marcos at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reported no significant damages following the quake, which GFZ listed as a magnitude 4.9 event, while she indicated it might have been a 5.2. The tremor was perceptible in Mexico City but lacked intensity.
Despite slight movement felt by residents in the capital, eyewitnesses confirmed there were no serious impacts or damages recorded, emphasizing the resilient infrastructure in the region.
