In a major initiative to enhance connectivity in West Bengal and the North-East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects exceeding Rs 3,250 crore. The projects aim to fortify regional links, acting as a catalyst for development.
During a public event in Malda, the Prime Minister virtually launched four Amrit Bharat Express trains, connecting key locations like New Jalpaiguri with Nagercoil and Alipurduar with Bengaluru. These train services are designed to provide affordable and reliable long-distance connectivity, benefiting citizens like students, workers, and traders.
In addition to launching new train services, Modi also laid the foundation stone for multiple railway projects, including the construction of new rail lines and modernization efforts. On the road infrastructure front, he initiated the rehabilitation and expansion of the Dhupguri-Falakata section of National Highway-31D, all aimed at bolstering the Eastern region as a growth engine for the nation.
