Russian forces launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv early Tuesday, targeting residential buildings and other facilities, authorities reported. Additional air strikes impacted areas including Kharkiv, where two people sustained injuries, according to local officials.
Witnesses in Kyiv described hearing loud explosions overnight, with both missiles and drones involved in the assault. Tymur Tkachenko, the city's military administration head, confirmed damages to several residential complexes, an educational institution, and a commercial property in districts situated east of the Dnipro River.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported fires engulfing a kindergarten and an attack on a non-residential building. Meanwhile, additional strikes were reported in southeastern Dnipro and near the Russian border in Sumy, as air raid alerts persisted for over two hours.
