Hungary's Prime Minister Peter Magyar said on Friday that the Paks nuclear plant could be completely powered down on Tuesday or Wednesday based on the latest predictions from water management authorities.
The nuclear plant is operating at less than 50% of its 2 gigawatts and was previously expected to be completely shut down on Monday as water levels on the Danube river are forecast to drop further.
