In a spirited rebuke to his critics, Spain defender Aymeric Laporte has defended his selection for the European Championship, despite playing his club soccer in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr.
Laporte, who joined Al-Nassr after leaving Manchester City in 2023, faced skepticism about his ability to perform at Euro 2024. However, he dispelled doubts with a strong showing in Spain's 1-0 victory over Italy on Thursday.
