Alongside Zara, teammates Heena Kang and Mannat Brar faced challenges, finishing T-21 and T-25 respectively. As a team, India stood Tied-seventh after the first day, with a combined score of 5-over 149, keeping them in contention.
Host country Japan took a strong lead with standout performances from Aira Nagasawa and Anna Iwanaga, both scoring three-under-par 69s. They narrowly led defending champions Korea by one stroke, setting the stage for an intense competition in this 13-nation event.
