The Italian team led the European champions 1-0 until the 96th minute, displaying resilience even though they lacked depth compared to their opponents. Coach Andrea Soncin expressed pride in the team’s performance despite the heartbreaking loss, highlighting major developments in the women’s game in Italy over recent years.
