An insider from the Asian Cricket Council revealed to PTI that Naqvi insists on a BCCI representative collecting the trophy in person from the ACC's Dubai headquarters. However, the Indian board has dismissed this proposal. The BCCI plans to bring the issue to the forefront during an ICC meeting scheduled next month.

The unusual situation unfolded after India rejected the trophy from Naqvi at the presentation ceremony. Consequently, Naqvi departed with it. The situation is further intensified by India's refusal to engage with Pakistani officials during the Asia Cup, a gesture in remembrance of the Pahalgam terror attack victims.
