Scott Robertson Steps Down as All Blacks Coach Amid Speculation

Scott Robertson has stepped down as the head coach of New Zealand's All Blacks, according to New Zealand Rugby on Thursday, following an internal review of the team's performance. Rumors about his future have swirled since December amid reports of disagreements between senior players and staff.

Robertson, who succeeded Ian Foster after the 2023 World Cup, achieved 10 wins out of 13 tests in the 2025 season. However, pressure increased following historic defeats against Argentina and England, as well as a record 43-10 loss to South Africa.

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) chairman David Kirk noted that the halfway point in the Rugby World Cup cycle prompted a review of the team's progress. Kirk stated that both Robertson and NZR agreed that his departure would benefit the team, paving the way for a new coaching team ahead of the 2027 tournament.
