The stage is set for Nigeria to defend their Women's Africa Cup of Nations title as they face off against Egypt, Zambia, and newcomers Malawi. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 17 to April 3, 2026, in Morocco, eight months after Nigeria's victory against the hosts in the last final.
Originally postponed due to logistical issues, the upcoming finals carry added weight. The tournament doubles as the qualifying event for the next Women's World Cup, with Africa's top four teams earning a spot in Brazil. Nigeria, with 10 titles to their name, and South Africa are the only former champions competing this year; Nigeria resides in Group C.
In Group A, Morocco battles with Algeria, Senegal, and Kenya at the Rabat Moulay Hassan Stadium. Group B, at the Rabat Al Madina Stadium, features South Africa, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Tanzania, while Group D sees Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde in Fes.
