In a significant move towards enhancing stadium security, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has proposed the installation of 300 to 350 AI-enabled cameras at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, according to a formal communication to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). This advanced surveillance technology aims to streamline crowd management and ensure fan safety by providing real-time tracking of entries and exits, maintaining orderly queues, and preventing unauthorized access.
The initiative, undertaken in partnership with technology company Staqu, will harness the power of AI to analyze video, audio, and text data, significantly speeding up investigations and improving the accuracy of decision-making processes. The AI's real-time video analytics feature will help in the early detection of incidents like violence, unauthorized access, and intrusion, allowing for prompt law enforcement response.
Demonstrating their commitment to the project's success, RCB has pledged to cover the entire one-time cost, estimated at ₹4.5 crore. Staqu, renowned for its successful collaborations with state police forces, will provide cutting-edge facial recognition and intelligent monitoring capabilities to facilitate enhanced crowd management, setting new standards for public safety and ensuring a seamless matchday experience for all attendees.
