In a thrilling finale in Zao, Japan, Austria's Lisa Eder clinched her first career World Cup victory in ski jumping, outperforming double world champion Nika Prevc. This victory came after Eder's second-place finish behind Japan's Nozomi Maruyama in the previous day's event.
Eder led with a 3.4-point margin over Prevc after the opening round on Wednesday, and her formidable 98-meter jump in the final propelled her to an overall score of 227.9 points. Prevc followed at 226.5 points, with Canada's Abigail Strate securing third place at 222.3 points.
Expressing her gratitude, Eder credited her family, coaches, and team for her success. Despite ranking third in overall standings behind Prevc and Maruyama, Eder's victory marks a significant milestone in her career.
