Jasprit Bumrah's bowling secured India's dominant win. This victory marks India's dominance in limited-overs cricket alongside the Champions Trophy and Asia Cup.
India cemented their position in cricket's history books on Sunday, claiming their third Men’s Twenty20 World Cup by overwhelming New Zealand in a lopsided final at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
A record crowd of over 86,000 at the world’s largest cricket venue watched as India cruised to a 96-run triumph, becoming the first team to retain the title. The victory was even sweeter given their previous defeat to Australia at the venue in the 50-overs World Cup final three years ago.
India's top-order batsmen delivered outstanding performances, with each of the top three scoring half-centuries to amass 255-5. Sanju Samson's remarkable form earned him player-of-the-tournament, while pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah's stellar figures of 4-15 secured player-of-the-match honors. Despite early setbacks, Hardik Pandya dreams of clinching more ICC titles.
