This year's edition of the Spirit of Pinkathon has once again brought to life the ethos of endurance, resilience, and women's empowerment. The event, now in its 6th edition, featured an extraordinary 160 km run from Mumbai to Pune that kicked off on April 2 at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, concluding at the AFMC Ground, Pune on April 4.
Pioneering this inspiring journey were two exceptional athletes: Captain Pooja Mehra (Retd.), a seasoned ultra-marathoner, psychotherapist, and former Indian Army officer, and Poonam Karanjkar, a veteran endurance runner and former IT professional. Together, they embraced the demanding multi-day run, embodying Pinkathon's core mission of encouraging women to break boundaries and prioritize their health.
Pinkathon founder Milind Soman emphasized the event's message, stressing the deeply interconnected nature of fitness, endurance, and emotional strength. "The 160 km run from Mumbai to Pune is a testament to women's strength and resilience," Soman stated. He added that Captain Pooja and Poonam's courage should inspire countless others to embark on their own fitness journeys. Initiatives like this highlight the empowering vision of Pinkathon—encouraging women to believe in themselves and redefine their limits.
Ankita Konwar, Founder of Invincible Women, echoed these sentiments, highlighting that Spirit of Pinkathon spotlights consistency and belief in developing strength beyond conventional limits. Both Captain Pooja and Poonam, through personal and purposeful journeys, inspire women to overcome fears, embrace fitness, and realize their true potential.
