Yankees activate Sabathia for Sunday start

The New York Yankees have activated left-hander CC Sabathia ahead of Sunday's night's start against the Boston Red Sox. The 38-year-old Sabathia (3-1, 3.48 ERA) was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 23 because of right knee inflammation.

Left-handed reliever Nestor Cortes, who replaced Sabathia on the 25-man roster, was sent down Saturday night in a corresponding move. The Yankees (38-19) are at home as they look for their third straight victory over the Red Sox (29-29).
