Logitech’s Android devices now support Google Meet
Logitech's Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini Android-based appliances can now be used as Google Meet hardware devices for collaboration rooms and spaces of any size.
Google Meet on Logitech Android appliances must have a Meet hardware license. When used as Meet hardware, Logitech devices support most meeting features to provide the full Meet experience.
Admins can easily enroll, manage, and monitor these devices using the Google admin console. Once enrolled, end users can join Google Meet meetings normally. Google Meet on Logitech Android-based devices is supported on CollabOS v1.11 as a video conferencing provider.
The following Logitech Android devices support Google Meet:
- Logitech Rally Bar
- Logitech Rally Bar Mini
- Tap IP
Additionally, Google is providing admins with a new capability to protect their room devices using a passcode, ensuring that only authorized users get access and change the room's device settings. This feature is limited to the Logitech Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini in appliance mode, where Rally Bar's built-in computer supports Google Meet without the need for an additional computer or a user's laptop.
This setting is enabled by default and can be toggled on or off. To manage the Room settings password, adminis can navigate to the Google Admin Console, click on Menu > Devices > Google Meet hardware > Devices. From there, they can access the Device settings section to expand it and locate the Rooms settings password. The password requirement can be turned on or off, and existing passwords can be viewed, edited, or updated as needed.
