The scammers employed sophisticated techniques, including deepfakes, to create deceptive endorsements from finance gurus and sports figures, all designed to lure people into investing in bogus schemes through imitation websites and messaging apps.

In its ongoing efforts to combat online fraud, Meta has detailed a variety of safety measures available on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, working in collaboration with Indian authorities to further strengthen digital safety frameworks.
