These sites have issued a letter expressing alarm over AI-fabricated depictions that trivialize the horrors faced by over six million Jews during World War II. The imagery, often highly emotional and fictitious, includes fabricated scenes of concentration camp inmates and liberators or children behind barbed wire.

Germany's state minister for culture and media, Wolfram Weimer, emphasized respect for victims and called for AI-generated content to be clearly marked or removed. This plea extends to platforms facing pressure over sexualized deepfake images. The memorials warn that this 'AI Slop' aims to blur historical facts and even alter victim-perpetrator narratives.
