India's Semiconductor Leap: Boosting Local Manufacturing
The Indian Cabinet has approved two new semiconductor manufacturing units with a total investment of over Rs 3,936 crore in Gujarat under the India Semiconductor Mission. This initiative is expected to create over 2,230 skilled jobs and significantly enhance the country's semiconductor ecosystem.
In a stride towards enhancing the domestic semiconductor sector, the Indian Cabinet approved two new manufacturing units on Tuesday, promising to inject a hefty Rs 3,936 crore investment.
These units are set to establish in Gujarat, driven by the country's first foray into commercial mini/micro-LED display technology, leveraging GaN technology, alongside a semiconductor packaging facility, as announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The two projects, headed by Crystal Matrix Limited and Suchi Semicon Private Limited, aim to not only bolster local production but also engage over 2,230 skilled professionals, further solidifying the semiconductor landscape in India.
