After a halt of two and a half years, the first flight to Moscow was operated by EgyptAir this April. EgyptAir has now scheduled three flights weekly to the Russian Capital.

The Egyptian airline’s flight frequency will be Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Cairo International Airport received first flight, on Wednesday, after a gap of more than two years break. The flight was of Russian Aeroflat.

Cairo International Airport also received 160 Russian passengers, coming from Airbus 320 at Terminal 2. The Russian passengers were facilitated with all the required procedures by the Egyptian Aviation Services Company.

The same airlines, Aeroflot airlines, will be operating with three flights each week between Moscow and Cairo.

The suspension of the flight happened during the end of 2015 due to the incident involving Islamic State group that resulted in the death of 224 people on board. Most people in the flight were Russians.

Tighter security laws have been implemented since the crash, by the Egyptian authorities at all of its airports. This has been done for security purposes and to meet the Russian demands for flight resumption
