The National Skill Development Corporation, in partnership with Britannia, has launched a Women Entrepreneurship Program aimed at addressing challenges women face in entrepreneurship. This initiative offers self-learning courses and the opportunity to present business ideas for financial grants. It aims to empower 25 lakh women across India.
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has teamed up with Britannia to launch a Women Entrepreneurship Program on Wednesday. This initiative aims to address the barriers women encounter in entrepreneurship by providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities.
The program introduces free self-learning basic entrepreneurship courses available in multiple languages on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH). Upon completion, participants will be awarded a co-branded certificate from NSDC, Britannia Industries, and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD).
This initiative aspires to empower approximately 25 lakh women across India, equipping them with the resources needed to start and grow successful businesses. The program will culminate in a grand finale, where the top 50 participants present their business plans to a distinguished jury. Additionally, Britannia Industries will grant Rs 10 lakh each to 10 of the most promising contestants.
Significant progress has been made in entrepreneurship through collaborations with NIESBUD and various ministries, according to Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He added that further collaborations are underway to provide skill training to women's self-help groups, both individually and collectively.
Britannia Industries' CEO, Jan Rajneet Singh Kohli, emphasized that the partnership reinforces their commitment to fostering an environment where women can lead, innovate, and propel the economy forward.
