A delegation of members from Japan's House of Councillors visited Mumbai's Metro Line-3 on Sunday. The visit included a ride from BKC station to Marol Naka station.

The delegation, led by Kazuhiko AOKI, was received by top officials of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC). The 33.5 km-long underground Aqua Line project has 57% of its cost funded by Japan.

Officials briefed the delegation on the project's progress, challenges, and impact. The Japanese lawmakers acknowledged the effective utilization of the funding and noted the increased mobility it promises for Mumbai, especially to slum areas.
