West Bengal Leads in MSMEs and Women-Run Enterprises
West Bengal has topped the chart in MSME manufacturing industries and boasts the highest percentage of women-headed establishments, as revealed by the National Statistics Office's recent survey. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee highlighted the state's achievements in various sectors, including a significant female workforce in unincorporated enterprises.

West Bengal has emerged as a leader in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) manufacturing sector, according to recent findings by the National Statistics Office (NSO). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the state's achievements, marking a significant milestone in economic development.
The state not only surpassed others with the highest percentage of women-headed establishments at 36.4% but also led in manufacturing enterprises with a share of 16.02%. In 'Other Services', West Bengal captured 13.09% of the market, underscoring its diverse industrial prowess.
Additionally, the state reported a notable presence of women in the workforce, with 12.73% in unincorporated sector enterprises, further strengthening its position in gender diversity and economic participation.
