A tragic accident occurred early Wednesday on the Bareilly–Haridwar highway as a bus carrying pilgrims overturned, resulting in one fatality and numerous injuries, according to police reports.
The incident happened around 3:20 am, involving a bus of 54 Bareilly residents returning from Uttarakhand. A 22-year-old woman named Durga died instantly, while over 20 others were hurt.
Initial investigations revealed the driver might have been under the influence of alcohol, and mechanical issues like punctures may have contributed to the crash. A manhunt is underway for the driver, and authorities are probing the accident further.
