In response to a tragic fire in Hong Kong that claimed at least 128 lives, China is set to initiate a country-wide inspection of fire safety measures in high-rise buildings.

The Ministry of Emergency Management has stated that this campaign will prioritize attention on buildings currently undergoing exterior wall renovations and interior modifications.

Key areas of inspection include the examination of flammable materials in wall insulation systems, prohibited construction materials like bamboo scaffolding, as well as the adequacy of fire safety equipment and emergency evacuation routes.
