Railways Roll Out 89 Special Trains Amid IndiGo Flight Chaos

In response to widespread travel disruptions caused by mass flight cancellations by IndiGo, the Indian Railways announced the operation of 89 special trains set to run across different zones. These trains will begin service this Saturday, aiming to manage the surge of stranded passengers, especially in metropolitan areas like New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.
According to Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of the Railway Board's Information & Publicity, the initiative was rapidly executed. The trains are scheduled to make over 100 trips within three days, with potential for additional services based on ongoing assessments of traffic conditions and passenger needs.
Efforts to disseminate information about these special trains include press releases and notifications at airports. In particular, South Eastern and Western Railways have communicated details of new train services to inform passengers and manage the current travel chaos effectively.
