China's commerce ministry announced on Thursday that it has resumed negotiations with the European Union concerning a minimum price plan for China-made electric vehicles. Discussions are set to continue into next week.
In October, the EU had imposed tariffs on Chinese-built EVs, reaching as high as 45.3%. However, in recent talks, both Brussels and Beijing have considered lifting these tariffs by introducing commitments to minimum prices for imported vehicles.
China urged the EU not to engage in separate discussions with producers, emphasizing a unified negotiation approach. These talks could pave the way to a revised trade framework for electric vehicles.
