Capgemini's involvement became publicly known when CEO Aiman Ezzat admitted to recently learning about the contract through its subsidiary, Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS). The subsidiary operates under a distinct governance structure to manage classified federal work.

The finance minister, Roland Lescure, expressed skepticism about the company's claim of unawareness, stressing the necessity for accountability at all levels of its operations. The issue draws attention to the broader debate over corporate responsibility in government contracts.
