The High Court of the Republic of Singapore has granted Edutech entrepreneur Byju Raveendran a reprieve by staying the committal and surrender provisions of a recent civil contempt order. This pivotal decision, made on June 10, follows an application by Raveendran's representatives, confirming he is currently not required to surrender.

Raveendran's legal team contends that the contempt finding is rooted in a contested document-disclosure issue within ongoing arbitration proceedings, not any criminal wrongdoing. J Michael McNutt, Senior Litigation Advisor, criticized the media for perpetuating a false narrative of an arrest warrant against Raveendran, clarifying there is no basis for such claims.

McNutt emphasized that the court's decision signifies vital progress towards a fair legal resolution. Raveendran expressed appreciation for the court's temporary stay, pledging to correct misleading public perceptions and affirming his financial commitment to the company, contributing personal wealth back to support its operations.
