Thomas Crooks, who attempted to assassinate former U.S. President Donald Trump at a campaign rally, was briefly featured in a 2022 BlackRock advertisement, the company disclosed on Sunday. In a statement emailed to Reuters, BlackRock confirmed the ad included several unpaid students, including Crooks, who graduated from Bethel Park High School that year.
In response, BlackRock stated it has removed the ad from circulation and will provide all video footage to the appropriate authorities. 'The assassination attempt on former President Trump is abhorrent,' the company emphasized. BlackRock's second-quarter results will be released on Monday.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Thomas Crooks graduated in 2022 from Bethel Park High School. The case has sparked significant attention due to the suspect's prior, albeit brief, appearance in a high-profile advertisement.
