Supreme Court Orders Masked NEET-UG 2024 Results Amidst Leak Allegations

The Supreme Court instructed the National Testing Agency to release city and centre-wise results of the NEET-UG 2024 exam by July 20, masking candidate identities. The Supreme Court has mandated the National Testing Agency (NTA) to publish the NEET-UG 2024 exam results by July 20, while ensuring candidates' identities remain masked. The directive came as the court sought to determine if students from contested centres scored disproportionately higher marks.

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, heading the bench, emphasized the necessity of concrete proof before ordering a complete re-examination, amidst allegations of systematic leaks affecting the exam's integrity. The court aims for transparency and fairness in dealing with accusations of malpractice.

The bench also requested submission of material collected by the Bihar Police and the Economic Offences Wing, with the investigation now under the CBI. The importance of these hearings was highlighted, given the significant implications for over 23.33 lakh students awaiting results.
