The Maharashtra Government announced a significant educational reform, with plans to implement the CBSE curriculum across all schools in the state by 2028. Education Minister Dada Bhuse stated that the initiative will kick off in 2025, starting with Class I and expanding to higher grades each subsequent year.
By 2028, all classes up to the 12th standard will be incorporated into this new scheme. The curriculum aims to go beyond traditional final examinations by introducing continuous and comprehensive assessment methods. This adjustment is designed to enhance students' soft skills, ensuring a broader educational development.
Despite some criticism, Bhuse defended the decision, emphasizing the advantages of the initiative. He highlighted the role of Balbharti in developing the new textbooks, which will prioritize practical knowledge and technology, ultimately better preparing students for competitive exams.
