The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi has announced that non-plan admissions for classes 6 to 9 in government schools will commence for the 2025-26 academic year on April 1. Registration will occur online, according to new guidelines issued by the DoE.
Eligibility criteria have been set, with students currently studying under the non-standard organisation category ineligible for online registration. Instead, they must seek transfers or readmission at their current institutions. Students out of school will be required to register physically at the nearest school, with assessments in foundational literacy and numeracy determining class placement.
The DoE has outlined that admissions will occur in three cycles, with provisions for students with disabilities and exceptional circumstances. Final admission lists are expected to be released on August 11, with the deadline for all admissions on August 31. The initiative underscores a commitment to accessible education while ensuring administrative flexibility.
