Court Intervenes: Minorities' Schools Receive Delayed Funds

The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has intervened to resolve a technical glitch that delayed financial aid to 12 minority-run schools in Jalna district. Initially sanctioned funds of Rs 1.16 crore returned to the treasury but were ordered for release by the court, resulting in Rs 1.21 crore being allocated.

The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has stepped in to address a technical glitch that obstructed the disbursement of financial aid to 12 minority-run schools in Jalna district.

Initially, the district administration sanctioned Rs 1.16 crore for these schools on March 31, aimed at strengthening their infrastructure. However, a malfunction in the government portal led to the automatic return of these funds to the treasury.

The schools, represented by advocate Vivek Dhage, subsequently sought legal remedy. The court, led by Justices Manish Pitale and YG Khobragade, ruled in their favor, ordering the state minority department to disburse the funds. As a result, a Government Resolution on September 15 facilitated the release of Rs 1.21 crore to the 12 institutions.
