In a shocking incident at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Police have detained three juveniles accused of strangling a 14-year-old tribal student to death. The crime reportedly occurred when the student refused to share his bucket at the institute's washroom, leading to his fatal assault.

Senior officer S Dev Datta Singh detailed the minors' arrest under Section 106(1) BNS and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. In addition, eight KISS staffers, including two teachers and an additional CEO, were held for attempting to cover up the crime by threatening witnesses.

The death, initially misreported as an accident, has prompted outrage in Keonjhar district. Locals have demanded justice, leading to further legal actions against the implicated KISS staff, charged with myriad offenses ranging from murder to evidence tampering and witness intimidation.
