Hollywood celebrities, including Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling, Ana Navarro, and Tony Goldwyn, are set to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Each star will take the helm on different nights of the four-day event, providing opening remarks and guiding the audience through the evening's programming, CNN reports. The convention is scheduled from August 19 to August 22.

Goldwyn will host on Monday, Navarro on Tuesday, Kaling on Wednesday, and Washington on Thursday. U.S. President Joe Biden will deliver a prime-time address on the first night, passing the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris, with nearly 50,000 attendees expected, including 4,000 delegates. The event's theme is "For the People, For Our Future."

Convention officials have confirmed that President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will speak on the opening night, themed "For the People." Notably, former President Barack Obama is set to speak on Tuesday, centered on "A Bold Vision for the Future," while Wednesday's theme, "A Fight for Freedom," will feature addresses from former President Bill Clinton and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. Kamala Harris's running mate, Mike Waltz, will officially accept the vice-presidential nomination on Wednesday.

On the final night, dedicated to the theme "For the Future," Vice President Harris will formally accept the presidential nomination. The convention's programming had to be revamped substantially after President Biden withdrew from the race in late July and endorsed Harris to replace him on the ticket.
