Hindus for America First, a newly created grassroots organization, has thrown its support behind Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, initiating a campaign targeting Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in key battleground states.
Utsav Sanduja, the chairman and founder of the group, announced the endorsement on Thursday, voicing concerns that Harris could destabilize Indo-US relations and reverse Supreme Court decisions affecting Asian-American voters. Sanduja criticized the Biden-Harris administration's handling of illegal immigration, linking it to increased crime and drug smuggling.
Sanduja praised Trump for his merit-based immigration system and efforts to enhance defense and technology cooperation with India, emphasizing the former president's pro-India stance. He also highlighted Trump's recognition of the persecution of Hindus in regions like Afghanistan and Pakistan, contrasting it with Harris's alleged disparaging remarks about India.
