Aparna Yadav Takes Helm as UP Women's Commission Vice Chairperson Amid Speculations

She dismissed rumours about being upset with the BJP over election ticket denial and likened herself to mythological characters, expressing gratitude towards PM Modi and the BJP.

BJP leader Aparna Yadav, step sister-in-law of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, took charge as the vice chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission. Upon assuming office, she compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to warrior-sage Parashuram and expressed her hopes to work with the same dedication as Arjuna.
Yadav addressed rumours of discontent within the BJP over not receiving an assembly poll ticket. She affirmed her gratitude towards PM Modi and the party, emphasizing her commitment to women's issues, citing past involvement in significant protests and cases.
On Monday evening, Yadav met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ending speculations about her potential return to the Samajwadi Party. Governor Anandiben Patel had recently appointed her for a one-year tenure alongside other commission members. Yadav joined BJP in January 2022, transitioning from her former association with the SP.
