The Uttar Pradesh government is turning to religious leaders for guidance in tackling the global climate crisis. Collaborating with iFOREST, the initiative will see a unique event titled 'Faith of Kumbh and Climate Change' held at the Maha Kumbh, featuring religious leaders and environmental experts.
Manoj Kumar, UP Chief Secretary, emphasized the significant societal influence wielded by dharma gurus, aiming to integrate their insights into addressing climate change. Sessions at the conclave will explore the role of religious leaders in environmental advocacy and the backing of faith-based organizations by governments in climate action.
Highlighting the spiritual aspect of the climate crisis, Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Environment Department, noted that the conclave aims to unite spiritual and sustainable approaches. Key figures from various faiths, as well as industry and academic leaders, are set to contribute to this important dialogue.
